Adimu
Mountain gorillas belong to the planet’s growing list of endangered species. The preservation of the gorilla’s natural habitat and its ecosystem is the impetus behind the SCS Water Initiative 2009 – The Living Nile Project. This year, one of the contributing factors financing the project’s endeavours is the exclusive auction of the extraordinary Pointiage® gorilla – Adimu.

Designed by Anton Hirzinger, each Adimu is a lustrous example of Swarovski’s unrivalled craftsmanship and sensitivity for detail. Artisans dedicated more than 100 hours to individually hand-set each Jet and Jet Hematite coloured crystal into place. Adimu is 17 cm tall (6 3/4 in.)and weighs 1,320 gram (2.91 lbs.).

In Swahili, Adimu stands for “rare” - a significant appointment for this masterfully portrayed endangered species in crystal. Only 33 have been created! Adimu will only be made available by auction at various SCS Events around the globe!

Four weeks only!
An exclusive online auction will begin on Monday, 4 May, 2009. For each global region – Asia, Americas and Europe -one Adimu will be made available. The highest bidder from each defined region will be determined on Wednesday, 3 June, 2009. All SCS Members with an online user account are invited to bid.
