New York based jewellery designer Philip Crangi’s debut collection for Atelier Swarovski features sleek Art Deco inspired hexagonal shapes, offset by classic jet and crystal baguettes delicately set into bangles, cuffs and earrings.
“I wanted to explore the idea of Dark Glamour – creating something mysterious and chic that uses the language of great, important jewellery of the 1930s, but reflects the idea of glamour today,” says Crangi.
Universally acclaimed fashion designer Giles Deacon fuses fabrics, felts and crystals. Luxuriously soft necklaces and bracelets in elaborate laser cut designs are embellished with crystals in various settings. “We are working with (…) hand-stamped and hand-marked artworks with the Crystallized™ Swarovski Elements. There will be necklaces in fantastic shapes. The crystals come in a great palette from which I have selected colours including, Golden Shadow, Light Rose and Peridot. There will be big explosions of crystal in this collection as well as delicate touches...”
With all of this and more, Atelier Swarovski’s Autumn Winter 2009 collection seems to be a promising one!
