Creative designers have demonstrated the versatility and creative possibilities of crystal in fashion time and again.
This year, Giles Deacon’s Autumn / Winter 2009 collection has been inspired by the exciting late 1980s and early 1990s. The collection presents an innovative and indigenous display of CRYSTALLIZED™ - Swarovski Elements, which is well-accepted by his audiences and satisfying to him.
Another creative designer who makes use of Swarovski crystals in his work is Rodarte. Regarding his Autumn / Winter 2009 Collection, he says, “We have recreated the looks of skin and rocks, with a ‘patched-together’ effect of layers, with prints, textures and silhouettes highlighted by the application of Swarovski Elements.”

New crystal enthusiasts present sparkling collections

Joining the team of crystal enthusiastic designers is Henry Holland. His debut with Swarovski elements provides a notable pizzazz, in sophisticated gradation of colour with panels of opalescent and brilliant hot-fix crystals.
Scottish designer Holly Fulton draws inspiration from art deco style. For Autumn / Winter, the designer has produced a collection that applied Swarovski elements in a traditional way. However, the colours and graphic brilliance bring back all the humour of Hollywood set designer Busby Berkeley and the glamour of Travis Banton’s costumes for screen vamp Claudette Colbert as Cleopatra (1934).

And the crystal sparkle spreads

Alexander Wang, Jason Wu, Jeremy Laing, Julian Louie, Ohne Titel, Rodarte, Three as Four, Erdem, Giles, Graeme Black, Louise Goldin, Marios Schwab, Mary Katrantzou, Todd Lynn, Twenty8Twelve, and Roksanda Ilincic have all joined the crystal craze. And with the list of designers using CRYSTALLIZED™ - Swarovski Elements increasing, each season promises a stronger gleam of crystal!
